It’s a God Thing Team

The “It’s a God Thing” Team has a strong evangelical purpose. The group consists of two sub-teams, both of which traveled to Honduras from March 8th to March 17th, 2023. Currently, there are a total of 19 team members.

The evangelism team, on the other hand, will be hosting 35 pastors and their wives from the Cruzadas organization at the Laquita hotel for a three-day retreat, offering them an opportunity to unwind and showing them love and care, in accordance with Proverbs 3:27-28.

Feed My Sheep Team

Since 2005, the "Alimenta a mis Ovejas" (Feed My Sheep) team has been dedicated to serving the community of Yorito, Yoro. What began as a medical team has evolved into a multifaceted initiative, offering eyeglasses, VBS, prayer stations, food ministry, PET carts, sewing machine classes, and Bible instruction in Spanish.

Although no trips are scheduled for 2024, our team remains committed to providing essential food supplies to families in need. What started with support for six families has now expanded to twelve, including provisions for two dogs. Every two weeks, local pulperias assemble packages of rice, beans, sugar, butter, cheese, whole chickens, eggs, and occasionally vegetables, fruit, candy, or cookies, which are then distributed by a local Honduran.

To sustain our efforts, we rely on donations. Each delivery costs between $250 to $300. If you feel moved to contribute, please don't hesitate to contact us. Your support is deeply appreciated.

Rio de Agua Viva Team

AHMEN's “River of Living Water” or “Río de Agua Viva” team has an educational focus. Some of us are teachers, but the majority of us are not. We are doctors, nurses, teachers, preachers, entrepreneurs, businessmen, scientists, gardeners, butchers, bakers, and candlestick makers. Anyone is welcome to join who has a willingness to share their skills and make friends with communities in Honduras.

Steve Rowe Team

The Steve Rowe team has been dedicated to serving communities in Limon, Colón, Honduras for over a dozen years. Our team’s primary base of operations is the Carolina Honduras Health Clinic in Limon, but we also extend our efforts to Plan de Flores, Icoteas, Punta Piedra, and Cusuna. Focusing on medical care, we address the urgent healthcare needs of underserved communities in Honduras. We emphasize the importance of donated medicine, medical equipment, and volunteers in sustaining our mission. We also prioritize educating families about clean water practices, distributing Sawyer water filters, and ensuring proper installation.

Nurses Training Team

In March 2023, a group of nursing students embarked on a journey. This experience led to the creation of lasting memories, imparted valuable life lessons, and provided education about a different culture. It also raised awareness about the resilience, humility, and endurance displayed by the Honduran people in their daily challenges. The act of donating American medicine, dental care, and eyeglasses proved to be a significant and impactful contribution, particularly for those who were unwell and in pain.

Medical Brigade Team

AHMEN’s Medical Brigades Team is headed by Peggy Polhemus who takes a medical team to Honduras in the spring for nurses’ training and to offer medical services to underserved Honduran communities. Our team of nurses also travel to Honduras throughout different times of the year for a variety of medical purposes.
